In order to get rid of one of the very few weak points of that marvelous Cherry construction, I reinforced the main axle slightly. On the original construction, the main axle tube (30mm) was welded straight and only to the vertical piece of the knuckles and therefore created a tremendous force on the weld where the inner and outer knuckle pieces have been welded together (this weld let go on some occasions). Now, the tube will go through both pieces (Picture 3) and therefore deliver the forces much more equal. This construction has been around for quite a while and has succesfully proven its reliability also on rough strips.
Today I manufactured the pieces from 1.5mm 25Crmo4, made the tubes fit the inner diameter of the bearings and drilled a couple of 5.1mm holes.
